Mission Statement
South 85 is a semi-annual online literary journal that publishes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, reviews, and criticism by new, emerging, and well-established writers. While all quality manuscripts that follow the submission guidelines are considered, we are especially interested in work that demonstrates a strong voice and/or a sense of place. Publishing online allows us to bring our readers longer works that may not fit into a traditional print journal, though we are not specifically looking for longer pieces. Ultimately, as writers ourselves, we believe it’s important not to limit you. So, write like mad, and if it’s good, we want to see it.
