By Nathaniel Lachenmeyer
It’s still too dark
and warm to confabulate
the active infinite
cause of everything
again. Let’s wait
for the sun at least
to rise and so reach
its roasting point.
Then I promise
I will run with you
through the heat
to hide and confer
in some cooling café
until its power also fails
or if we are lucky
until the sun’s
next rolling blackout
the night returns.
